  • EUREKA ROAD - Granite Bay has no connected trail system despite extensive residential development. Eureka Road between Auburn Folsom Blvd and Wellington Way (near Granite Bay High School) is the main connector and our next major focus for trail development to provide safe routes to Elementary, Middle and High Schools. This section of  road is approximately 2.5 miles long, over 100 years old, narrow with very little shoulder and open drainage ditches. There are no continuous walking or bike paths along the road, despite being identified and marked as an official bike route. There are over 5000 auto trips per day according to 2017 counts.  The majority of the traffic is for morning and afternoon school drop off and pick up.  Community surveys have rated safe bike and pedestrian trails as number 1 priority, and 95% of parents of school age children said they would encourage their children to ride, scoot or walk to school instead of driving them if there were safe paths to school.

  • South Barton Road Pedestrian Path / Trail - (PHASE 1 and 2 COMPLETED, PHASE 3 TO BE FINISHED SPRING 2023) TrailBooster helped Placer County obtain the necessary easements and worked with homeowners to install a trail along the West side of Barton Road, connecting Eureka Road to East Roseville Parkway. TrailBooster purchased new privacy fencing and other landscape features which the county is not able to provide.
  • PHASE 1 (from Eureka Road to Oak Creek Place) - Complete
  • PHASE II (from Oak Creek Place to East Roseville Parkway) - Complete
  • PHASE III (bridge across Linda Creek) - A safe crossing over Linda Creek connecting phase I and II of the trail is scheduled to be completed in the Spring of 2023.

  • South Barton Road Widening, Repaving and Re-striping - COMPLETED  SPRING 2020!  Local residents may have noticed that this section of Barton Road is now a lot better for cyclists and runners than it used to be! That's the first accomplishment of TrailBooster. Without our advocacy, Barton Road's shoulders would not have been widened; it would not have had pipe placed in its ditches with storm drains to result in the bike-friendly shoulder that it is today. Many thanks to Placer County Roads Department, especially Kevin Taber, Engineering Manager, for diligently listening to the needs of the community, making modifications that were good for both motorists and cyclists, and securing additional funding to do an excellent job! This is a prime example of how a public works project should be done with a solution-oriented attitude and in partnership with residents. Thank you!!

We need your help!

Neighborhood contributions and donations from other supporters are essential for bringing the safe paths and bike lanes vision to fruition. Funds will primarily help pay for things like new privacy fencing and landscape / hardscape features, etc. for impacted homeowners, advocacy, grant applications and trail construction where needed. If you've ever tried to take a family bike ride or walk your dog along this section of Eureka road, you know that trails like this will make a HUGE improvement on the walk- and ride-ability, safety and wellness of this community.

Your donations are tax-deductible because TrailBooster is a federally approved 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
